Japan-based Toyo Engineering Corporation and MODEC Inc jointly announced the inauguration of their Global Capability Centre (GCC), TOYO MODEC OFS India Private Limited (OFS India), in Bengaluru. This initiative represents a collaboration between Toyo Engineering India Private Limited (a subsidiary of Toyo Japan) and Offshore Frontier Solutions Pte. Ltd. (OFS), a MODEC Group firm.

The newly launched facility is positioned as a crucial component of the companies' international expansion efforts. It aims to strengthen their global delivery model with enhanced innovation, scalable services, and operational efficiency. As per a press release issued by both firms, the GCC will significantly contribute to Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) projects across international markets.

Situated on the 7th floor of Godrej Centre in Indira Nagar, Bengaluru, the facility spans roughly 1,00,000 sq ft. It has been designed with the intention of promoting a high-performance, collaborative environment, with a strong emphasis on innovation, sustainability, and continuous process enhancement.

At present, OFS India employs around 200 Indian professionals. The venture has ambitious plans to scale up this number to 750 over the next three years, thereby generating several high-value employment opportunities in engineering, procurement, and comprehensive FPSO project support.

The launch event was graced by Nakane Tsutomu, the Consul General of Japan in Bengaluru, who officially opened the centre, reinforcing the strategic importance of Indo-Japanese partnerships in the engineering and energy sectors.

Beyond creating local employment, the venture underscores the growing importance of India as a hub for specialised engineering talent. As demand for FPSO solutions rises globally, this initiative positions the firms to respond more efficiently while cultivating a sustainable and innovation-driven work culture.
