Nexus Seawoods Mall in Navi Mumbai has announced the debut edition of the Art of Happyness Utsav 2025, a four-day cultural event curated in collaboration with EkiBeki. Set to take place from July 25 to 28, the celebration will feature over 25 stalls by rural and tribal women artisans, interactive tribal art workshops, and a live painting of a 24-foot chandelier by artist Dhanya Namboothiri. The chandelier will later be installed in the mall atrium as a life-sized art piece in August.
Nexus Seawoods Mall in Navi Mumbai is set to host the inaugural edition of the Art of Happyness Utsav 2025-a four-day celebration dedicated to India's traditional crafts, cultural expressions, and community engagement. Organised in partnership with EkiBeki, the event will run from July 25 to 28, transforming the Airspace Atrium of the mall into a vibrant showcase of indigenous talent.
Over 25 stalls will exhibit and retail intricately handcrafted items, ranging from sustainable toys and decorative homeware to artisanal jewellery and eco-conscious stationery. All products have been created by women artisans from rural and tribal communities, reflecting a deep commitment to preserving and promoting disappearing craft traditions.
The programme will also feature interactive workshops focused on tribal art forms, alongside a fusion of live performances blending Bharata Natyam, Warli painting, and animated visuals. Artist Dhanya Namboothiri will create a live painting of a 24-foot chandelier during the event-a centrepiece artwork specially commissioned by Team Nexus Seawoods. A life-sized installation of the chandelier will be unveiled in the mall atrium in August, allowing visitors to engage with the piece beyond the duration of the Utsav.
Positioned as more than just a retail experience, the Art of Happyness Utsav serves as a platform for reviving traditional art forms in a modern urban setting. By offering exposure to rural artisans and enabling cultural interaction through art and performance, the initiative aims to preserve India's heritage while fostering creative participation among visitors.
As Navi Mumbai's residents prepare to immerse themselves in workshops, performances, and handmade craftsmanship, the event sets a compelling precedent for how malls can champion inclusive cultural narratives.
