The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has initiated an e-auction process for around 200 residential plots located across some of the city's most sought-after areas, including Basant Kunj, Priyadarshani Colony, Kanpur Road, and both Gomtinagar and its extension. The available plot sizes range from 60 m² to 252m². Complete details including base prices, plot numbers, and location maps are available online. This move follows a recent auction of premium plots and commercial complexes, forming part of the LDA's wider strategy to better utilize idle land and meet the city's growing demand for organized housing.
The Lucknow Development Authority has rolled out an e-auction for nearly 200 residential plots located across key neighbourhoods of the city, including Basant Kunj, Priyadarshani Colony, Kanpur Road, Gomtinagar, and Gomtinagar Extension. Plot sizes start from 60 m² and go up to 252 m² , making the auction appealing to a wide range of homebuyers and investors. Auction details, including plot locations, reserve prices, and eligibility conditions, have been uploaded on the LDA's official portal and the e-auction platform eauctionsindia.com.
This auction comes close on the heels of a major land release last week, when LDA put up 50 premium plots in Sector G of Basant Kunj for auction. These plots, each measuring 252 m² , were located near Gau Ghat and along the Green Corridor. With a base rate of INR 32,955 per square metre, the combined estimated value of the plots was around INR 3.1 billion.
The same auction round also included two high-value commercial complexes Ratan Khand and Mansarovar with reserve prices of INR 8.7 billion and INR 1.527 billion, respectively. In addition, large plots in the vicinity of Gomtinagar Extension were listed, continuing the authority's focus on unlocking the value of underused land parcels.
Registrations for the ongoing residential auction are currently open, and all interested buyers can participate digitally. This digital-first approach ensures wider accessibility, quicker processing, and more transparency in the allocation process.
The LDA has been actively identifying and repurposing its idle land inventory for the past few months. Several plots lying unused for years are now being released for residential or commercial development. The authority has also begun preparing land near Balu Adda and Bhadeva in the Aishbagh area for high-rise residential projects.
In parallel, the LDA has issued final recovery notices to 338 allottees who defaulted on payments. These defaulters risk cancellation of their allotments if dues remain unpaid. Additionally, the authority is working to open registrations for 72 EWS (Economically Weaker Section) flats in Dalibagh. The construction of these flats has been backed by an allocation of approximately INR 55 million.
This string of auctions and residential launches indicates a focused push by the LDA to meet Lucknow's evolving urban housing needs, streamline land use, and increase revenue through asset monetization.
