Synopsis

ITC Hotels Ltd has opened a new property in Prayagraj under its Welcomhotel brand, adding to its expanding portfolio in Uttar Pradesh. The newly launched 60-key hotel brings the company's total footprint in the state to seven operational properties, with six more under development. In a parallel development, TACC Ltd and the National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCB) have formalised a partnership to innovate in next-generation construction materials using graphene-based additives.

ITC Hotels Ltd has expanded its hospitality network in North India by launching a new property, Welcomhotel Prayagraj, in Uttar Pradesh. The hotel, comprising 60 rooms and suites, marks the seventh operational hotel by ITC in the state. The company has also indicated that six additional properties are in the pipeline for Uttar Pradesh, underscoring a steady regional growth strategy.

Anil Chadha, Managing Director of ITC Hotels, stated that the expansion not only enhances the company's footprint in the region but also reflects a commitment to delivering hospitality experiences that honour local culture while maintaining high service standards. The company's continued investment in Uttar Pradesh aligns with its broader plan of establishing deeper roots across key northern markets.

Meanwhile, in a separate development related to infrastructure innovation, TACC Ltd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCB). This strategic collaboration aims to drive the development of next-generation construction materials designed to support sustainable and high-performance infrastructure.

TACC Ltd confirmed that the agreement would facilitate the development of concrete solutions utilising its proprietary graphene-based additives, enabling stronger, more durable and environmentally responsible building materials. The partnership is expected to significantly contribute to advancements in India's construction sector, particularly in the realm of sustainability.

Both developments, in hospitality and construction innovation, reflect evolving priorities in India's urban and regional growth narrative.
