Synopsis

Vishnusurya Projects and Infra Ltd has bagged an INR 103.07 crore contract from JWIL Infra Ltd for the execution of a pipeline project tied to a major desalination initiative near Chennai. The scope includes laying, testing, and commissioning pipelines, along with civil construction, for a 400 MLD desalination plant at Perur. The project, awarded to JWIL Infra by the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board, aims to supply potable water to nearly 22.67 lakh residents across Tambaram and 20 surrounding panchayats.

Chennai-based EPC specialist Vishnusurya Projects and Infra Ltd has secured an infrastructure order worth INR 103.07 crore from JWIL Infra Ltd, a company engaged in comprehensive water management services. The contract involves laying, testing, and commissioning of pipelines, accompanied by associated civil construction works for a large-scale desalination facility coming up in Perur, on the outskirts of Chennai.

The desalination plant, with a proposed capacity of 400 million litres per day, is intended to bolster the drinking water supply for approximately 22.67 lakh residents in Tambaram and 20 neighbouring village panchayats. The project was originally commissioned to JWIL Infra Ltd by the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board, with Vishnusurya Projects serving as a subcontractor for the pipeline and civil engineering scope. The company is expected to complete the assigned work within 17 months.

V Sanal Kumar, CEO and Whole-time Director of Vishnusurya Projects and Infrastructure Ltd, expressed satisfaction at the contract win. He said the company was pleased to contribute to the social initiative of delivering safe drinking water through this project. He also noted that Vishnusurya had previously undertaken similar pipeline infrastructure contracts in Tamil Nadu for enhancing water distribution systems in Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, and Chidambaram.

By partnering with JWIL Infra for the Perur desalination initiative, the company extends its footprint in Tamil Nadu's urban water infrastructure landscape. With a track record of similar undertakings in other districts, the firm continues to contribute to essential public utilities, aligning engineering capability with growing urban demand.
