Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate and launch a series of development initiatives totalling over INR 7,200 crore in Motihari, Bihar. These efforts span multiple sectors including railways, road infrastructure, fisheries, rural development, and IT services, and are part of the central government's continuing focus on regional connectivity and socio-economic upliftment.

According to an official release from the Prime Minister's Office, the PM will unveil various railway infrastructure projects. These include the inauguration of automatic signalling between Samastipur and Bachhwara to streamline train operations, and doubling works for the Darbhanga-Thalwara and Samastipur-Rambhadrapur sections, collectively valued at over INR 580 crore. Additionally, he will lay the foundation for infrastructure works supporting Vande Bharat train maintenance at Patliputra, signalling systems between Bhatni and Chhapra Gramin (114 km), and traction system upgrades in the same section to enable faster and energy-efficient trains.

The Darbhanga-Narkatiaganj rail doubling project, pegged at INR 4,080 crore, will significantly boost rail connectivity between North Bihar and the rest of the country by enhancing both passenger and freight train capacity.

In the roads sector, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation for the 4-laning of the Ara bypass on NH-319, a critical link between Ara-Mohania NH-319 and Patna-Buxar NH-922. He will also inaugurate the newly completed 4-lane section between Parariya and Mohania on NH-319, built at a cost exceeding INR 820 crore. A new 2-lane paved shoulder road from Sarwan to Chakai on NH-333C will also be launched, improving Bihar-Jharkhand road connectivity.

The Prime Minister is also scheduled to inaugurate two key Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) facilities-one in Darbhanga and another incubation centre in Patna. These will support the growth of the IT/ITES/ESDM sectors and foster innovation, start-up incubation, and digital entrepreneurship across Bihar.

In the fisheries sector, Modi will inaugurate several infrastructure projects approved under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY). These include biofloc units, ornamental fish farms, aquaculture units, hatcheries, and fish feed mills. These projects are expected to improve rural employment, promote entrepreneurship, and strengthen aquaculture output in Bihar.

As part of railway upgrades, four new Amrit Bharat trains will be flagged off: Rajendra Nagar Terminal (Patna) to New Delhi, Bapudham Motihari to Anand Vihar Terminal (Delhi), Darbhanga to Gomti Nagar (Lucknow), and Malda Town to Gomti Nagar via Bhagalpur.

In a continued thrust on women-led development, the Prime Minister will release INR 400 crore to over 61,500 Self-Help Groups in Bihar under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission. This support aims to further the government's initiative to empower over 10 crore women already linked with SHGs.

Additionally, under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin, over INR 160 crore will be disbursed to 40,000 rural beneficiaries. The Prime Minister will also distribute house keys to selected beneficiaries as part of the "Griha Pravesh" of 12,000 homes completed under the housing scheme.

The railway and road upgrades reflect a long-term vision for seamless mobility, while targeted initiatives in fisheries and rural housing signal the Centre's continued focus on inclusive development in eastern India.
