The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has transferred maintenance of four sectors in Gomtinagar Extension to the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC), providing INR 40 crore for civic amenities. This investment targets drinking water and sewerage upgrades, including extending water pipelines and sewer lines, installing new tubewells, and repairing existing infrastructure. The move, initiated by the LDA vice-chairperson, aims to improve services for residents. The Jal Kal Department will execute the work, which also involves cleaning sewer lines and repairing manholes, signaling efforts to enhance urban infrastructure in Lucknow.

The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has recently transferred maintenance responsibilities for certain sectors of an urban area and provided funds for amenity upgrades. This initiative, in Gomtinagar Extension, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, aims to improve civic amenities for residents by collaborating with the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) and initiating infrastructure works.

The LDA has transferred the maintenance of Sectors 1, 4, 5, and 6 of Gomtinagar Extension to the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC). To facilitate these improvements, the LDA has provided INR 40 crore to the LMC for drinking water and sewerage works in Gomtinagar Extension.

This investment will fund various infrastructure upgrades. Plans include extending 3,000 meters of water pipeline and 2,500 meters of sewer line. The funds will also cover the installation of four new tubewells, the construction of five zonal pumping stations, the repair of 26 existing tubewells, and the reconstruction and repair of overhead tanks.

Additionally, approximately 12 kilometers of sewer lines will be cleaned using super suction machines, and about 350 manholes will be repaired. The transfer of responsibilities and funds was initiated following a directive from the LDA vice-chairperson, Prathamesh Kumar.

This aims to ensure prompt commencement of work by the Jal Kal Department. Collaboration between development authorities and municipal corporations is common for managing urban infrastructure. Investing in water supply and sewerage systems is fundamental for public health and livability in urban areas.
