Amazon India has announced the launch of more than 30 new delivery stations across Tier II and Tier III cities such as Nagpur, Panchkula, Howrah, Indore, Mohali, and Hubli. This move is part of its broader expansion to strengthen last-mile logistics, adding to its network of 2,000 existing centres nationwide. The company has also confirmed an investment of over INR 2,000 crore to scale up its pan-India operations. According to Amazon, the new stations will significantly enhance same-day and next-day delivery capabilities, not only in the identified cities but also in nearby regions.
Amazon India is deepening its logistical reach across the country with the launch of more than 30 new delivery stations in Tier II and Tier III cities. Locations such as Nagpur, Panchkula, Mohali, Howrah, Hubli, and Indore have been included in this expansion, which aims to bolster the company's ability to deliver products quickly and reliably beyond metro markets.
The move adds to the e-commerce giant's existing network of over 2,000 delivery centres across India. The company stated that the newly operationalised stations are set to significantly improve the pace of same-day and next-day deliveries in the respective cities as well as their adjoining regions.
Abhinav Singh, Vice President of Operations at Amazon India, explained that the company's long-term ambition has been to offer India's widest product selection to every customer in the shortest possible time. He remarked that to fulfil this objective, Amazon has been making consistent and large-scale investments annually.
He added that the recent investment commitment of over INR 2,000 crore had been made to accelerate this infrastructure growth, which includes the rollout of the new delivery hubs. Singh noted that the investment will not only support faster delivery timelines but also improve service penetration into less urbanised zones.
The announcement closely follows Amazon's declaration last month regarding its intention to invest more than INR 2,000 crore in 2025 towards expanding and upgrading its all-India operations network.
This expansion also reflects Amazon's broader strategy to deepen its presence in India's smaller towns and cities, where e-commerce penetration is still evolving but rapidly growing.
