The hotel will form part of a seven-acre commercial complex spanning 17 lakh sq ft, with construction expected to begin in the coming year and the hotel slated to open in the final quarter of 2030. Vardhman Amrante Pvt Ltd, the real estate subsidiary of Ludhiana-based Oswal Group, has announced an investment of INR 260 crore for the development of a five-star hotel in Ludhiana, Punjab. The company has partnered with Marriott International, which will manage the 200-key hotel under its premium 'Westin Hotels & Resorts' brand.
An agreement between Vardhman Amrante and Marriott International was formalised for this purpose, marking the entry of the Westin brand into Ludhiana for the first time. Adish Oswal, Chairman of Oswal Group, informed that this would become the largest hotel development in the city.
The upcoming hospitality project is part of a broader commercial development spread across seven acres, offering a total built-up potential of 17 lakh sq ft. Construction is scheduled to commence next year, with the hotel expected to be operational in the final quarter of 2030.
This project is aligned with Vardhman Amrante's wider growth strategy. The company had previously declared plans to invest INR 1,350 crore over a three-year period to develop three to four projects in Ludhiana and other cities in Punjab.
Oswal Group, which has its roots in the textile sector, forayed into the real estate market in 2014. Since then, the firm has developed 15 lakh sq ft in the residential space and is presently working on a shopping mall spanning 2.75 lakh sq ft.
The group also owns a listed company, Vardhman Polytex, which recorded a total revenue of INR 400 crore for the financial year 2023-24.
Marriott International currently operates 158 hotels across India under 18 different brands, with four of these located in Punjab.
By securing a globally recognised brand such as Westin for its flagship hotel, the Oswal Group is making a strong statement about its intent to shape high-end urban infrastructure in Punjab. With simultaneous investments in residential and retail segments, the group's integrated development strategy is gradually transforming Ludhiana into a more robust commercial and leisure destination.
