The project, in partnership with the Farah Group, will leverage the benefits of enhanced connectivity in the region, notably due to the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway. With this addition, IHCL's footprint in Karnataka now stands at 26 hotels, of which 12 are currently under various stages of development.
Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) announced during the past week that it had signed a new greenfield project to set up a 115-room hotel in the heritage city of Mysuru, Karnataka. The upcoming property will be developed under IHCL?s upscale Vivanta brand, known for blending style with comfort and catering to modern business and leisure travellers.
The company highlighted that Mysuru is witnessing an uptick in tourism and commercial activity, owing largely to improved infrastructure and accessibility. One of the key drivers behind this growth has been the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway, which has significantly reduced travel time between the two cities, thereby increasing visitor flow and economic interactions.
Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President ? Real Estate and Development at IHCL, remarked that the signing was consistent with the group?s strategy to expand its presence in high-potential destinations. She mentioned that improved regional connectivity was boosting both tourism and business travel in Karnataka. She added that IHCL was pleased to partner with the Farah Group for this venture, underscoring the company?s commitment to working with local partners to unlock growth opportunities in emerging markets.
With the signing of this project, IHCL?s portfolio in Karnataka has grown to 26 hotels, of which 12 are in various stages of development. This expansion underscores the group?s confidence in Karnataka?s tourism and hospitality sector and further reinforces its leadership position in the southern Indian market.
Mysuru, often referred to as the cultural capital of Karnataka, has long been a favoured destination for tourists due to its rich heritage, royal history, and vibrant festivals. With increased investments and attention from major hospitality players like IHCL, the city is poised to emerge as a key hospitality and business destination in South India.
By expanding into Mysuru, the company is not only recognising the city?s cultural and economic significance but also reinforcing its position in southern India?s competitive hospitality sector. The collaboration with the Farah Group reflects IHCL?s approach of fostering local partnerships to ensure long-term success. With infrastructure advancements like the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway driving regional growth, IHCL appears well-positioned to harness the momentum in one of India?s most promising travel corridors.
