Synopsis

Thomas Cook (India) has extended its presence in Punjab by launching its first franchise outlet in Mohali, tapping into the city's growing reputation as a high-potential travel market. Known for its rapidly developing residential and commercial sectors, Mohali forms a key part of the Tricity region. The newly opened Gold Circle Partner outlet is expected to offer enhanced access and convenience to local customers. According to Thomas Cook's India Holiday Report 2025, a significant number of consumers are planning to travel more frequently and increase their travel budgets, underlining the market's expanding appetite for holidays.

Thomas Cook (India) Limited has broadened its network in Punjab by establishing its first franchise outlet in Mohali, aligning with the company?s strategic plan to penetrate high-growth markets. This newly inaugurated outlet operates under the Gold Circle Partner franchise model and is intended to cater to the surging demand for travel services in the region.

Mohali, which forms an essential part of the Tricity region alongside Chandigarh and Panchkula, is experiencing rapid urban expansion with increasing residential and commercial developments. Recognising this, the company remarked in an official statement that Mohali represents a promising source market with immense potential for tourism services.

Rajeev Kale, President and Country Head ? Holidays, Thomas Cook (India) Limited, noted that Mohali had emerged as an important contributor to the company?s domestic customer base. He explained that the firm had witnessed consistent demand from the area and expressed enthusiasm over launching the new outlet. He added that the move would significantly strengthen their ability to meet the evolving needs of customers by offering convenient, locally accessible, and seamless travel solutions.

The decision is supported by findings from the company?s India Holiday Report 2025, which revealed that 60% of respondents plan to increase the frequency of their holidays, while 59% intend to enhance their travel budgets by 20?50%. These figures reflect a broader trend of rising interest in travel and leisure among Indian consumers?particularly from developing urban centres like Mohali.

With this launch, Thomas Cook (India) has now established a total of 10 outlets across Punjab, demonstrating its commitment to expanding regional outreach. The new franchise is expected to provide personalised travel consultations, domestic and international tour packages, visa assistance, travel insurance, and a range of other services aimed at delivering a comprehensive travel experience.

The strategic move is backed by insightful consumer data and reflects the company?s adaptability in catering to evolving travel preferences. With more Indians inclined towards frequent and higher-budget holidays, especially in emerging urban locales, Thomas Cook is positioning itself not just as a travel facilitator, but as a long-term lifestyle partner in the travel ecosystem.
