Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan has acquired a 25,000 sq. ft. plot near 'The Sarayu,'an ultra-luxury project by The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL), for nearly INR 40 crore. This marks his third major investment in Ayodhya's booming real estate sector. Earlier purchases include a 10,000 sq. ft. plot within The Sarayu township (INR 14.5 crore), a 54,454 sq. ft. parcel near the Ram Mandir (for a proposed memorial), and a 5,372 sq. ft. plot in Haveli Avadh township (approx. INR 4.54 crore). HoABL is marketing The Sarayu as a premium gated community with spiritual and modern appeal. Following the Ram Mandir inauguration, Ayodhya has witnessed a surge in luxury real estate demand, supported by new infrastructure like the Ayodhya International Airport and improved road networks. Bachchan's investments are expected to further boost Ayodhya's status as a rising luxury destination.
Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan has strengthened his foothold in Ayodhya's burgeoning real estate landscape by acquiring a 25,000-square-foot plot of land close to 'The Sarayu', a luxury project by The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL). The plot, valued at close to INR 40 crore, is part of a larger ultra-premium development that has been gaining traction among high-net-worth individuals and investors drawn to Ayodhya's rapidly rising profile.
This purchase comes on the heels of two earlier investments by the actor in the same city. Previously, he had secured a 10,000-square-foot plot within The Sarayu township for INR 14.5 crore. Additionally, he had bought a 54,454-square-foot parcel situated roughly 10 kilometres from the newly inaugurated Ram Mandir. According to reports, this larger piece of land is being considered for the construction of a memorial in honour of his late father, renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Furthermore, he also acquired a 5,372-square-foot plot in the upscale Haveli Avadh township, with the transaction valued at approximately INR 4.54 crore.
Sources close to the development shared that HoABL is positioning The Sarayu as a premium gated community offering high-end amenities and spiritual proximity. The firm had previously announced that the project would include limited edition land parcels curated for individuals who value cultural legacy as much as modern comfort. In private conversations, the developer conveyed that the presence of a luminary like Amitabh Bachchan in the project sends a powerful signal to potential buyers and elevates Ayodhya's appeal as a luxury destination.
Ayodhya, traditionally known for its religious significance, has emerged in recent years as a magnet for real estate development. The completion of the Ram Mandir has been a pivotal moment, bringing with it an influx of both pilgrims and investors. Enhanced infrastructure, such as the Ayodhya International Airport and upcoming expressway networks, has made the city far more accessible, thus fuelling demand for residential and commercial properties.
