Oyo-owned Belvilla has acquired Australian short-term rental-platform MadeComfy in a cash-and-stock deal, issuing shares worth USD 1.9 million (INR 16 crore) upfront and USD 9.6 million (INR 81 crore) in deferred-stock, valuing Oyo at USD 5 billion (INR 42,500 crore). MadeComfy, founded in 2015, manages 1,200+ assets across Australia, New Zealand and earned USD 9.6 million (INR 81 crore) in 2024. Belvilla operates 50,000 homes in 20 European countries. Oyo also acquired G6-Hospitality in 2024 for USD 525 million. Founder Ritesh Agarwal projects FY26 profit of INR 1,100 crore, citing 60% YoY revenue-growth.
Oyo's vacation home rental subsidiary, Belvilla by Oyo, has acquired Australian short-term rental management firm MadeComfy in a strategic cash-and-stock transaction. The deal was unanimously approved during an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) of Oyo's parent company, Oravel Stays. As part of the agreement, Oyo will issue shares valued at USD 1.9 million (INR 16 crore) upfront at a per-share price of USD 0.67 (INR 57.09), assigning an approximate valuation of USD 5 billion (INR 42,500 crore) to the company. An additional USD 9.6 million (INR 81 crore) worth of shares will be disbursed after two years. Although the transaction also includes a cash component, the exact amount remains undisclosed. Oyo did not provide a comment in response to media inquiries.
Founded in 2015 by Sabrina Bethunin and Quirin Schwaighofer, MadeComfy operates as a short-term rental property management company catering to property investors. It manages over 1,200 assets across key cities in Australia, including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide. Additionally, the company has expanded its footprint to New Zealand, with listings in Auckland, Wellington, and Hamilton. In 2024, MadeComfy generated a revenue of approximately USD 9.6 million (INR 81 crore), highlighting its growing presence in the property management space.
Belvilla, originally part of the @Leisure Group, was acquired by Oyo in 2019 to strengthen its vacation rental offerings in Europe. It was subsequently rebranded as 'Belvilla by Oyo.' The company now boasts a portfolio of 50,000 holiday homes across 20 European nations, including Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, and Spain. Belvilla functions as a full-service platform, enabling homeowners to maximize rental income by leveraging both Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) and its proprietary booking channels.
This acquisition of MadeComfy follows Oyo's major move in December 2024 when it purchased G6 Hospitality from Blackstone Real Estate for USD 525 million in an all-cash deal. That acquisition added roughly 1,500 franchised hotels across the United States and Canada under the Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands, further strengthening Oyo's presence in North America.
