Bengaluru-based real estate developer Sumadhura Group has ventured into the co-working sector with the launch of its maiden centre in Whitefield, Bengaluru, marking the debut of its new vertical, Workship. Spread across 1.3 lakh square feet within Capitol Towers, the centre aims to cater to the rising demand for managed flexible workspaces, particularly from corporates in sectors such as IT/ITeS, agri-tech, and pharma. The company plans to establish three additional centres this fiscal, expanding its managed workspace portfolio to 5 lakh square feet. Sumadhura has previously completed 54 real estate projects totalling over 13 million square feet, with a primary focus on Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
Real estate developer Sumadhura Group has made its debut in the co-working space segment with the launch of its first centre in Bengaluru earlier this week. The facility spans 1.3 lakh square feet and is located within the group's own commercial complex, Capitol Towers, situated in Whitefield. This strategic move comes in response to a growing demand from corporates for flexible and professionally managed office environments.
The group announced the creation of a new vertical, branded as 'Workship', dedicated to offering premium managed office spaces tailored to corporate clients. According to Madhusudhan G, the Chairman and Managing Director of Sumadhura Group, the first centre is already operational, and the company intends to add three more such centres during the current fiscal year, which would collectively cover an area of 5 lakh square feet.
He indicated that Workship would lease office spaces not only from the parent company, Sumadhura Group, but also from other developers in order to scale up operations efficiently. Madhusudhan mentioned that desks in the first facility are being offered at approximately INR 15,000 each.
He pointed out that India is undergoing a major shift in workspace preferences, with a noticeable rise in demand for flexible and premium managed offices. He highlighted Bengaluru and Hyderabad as the frontrunners in this evolution. The company also noted increased interest in co-working spaces from industries such as IT/ITeS, agri-tech, and pharmaceuticals.
Sumadhura Group has an established presence in the South Indian real estate market, having successfully delivered 54 projects totalling more than 13 million square feet, primarily across Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
As businesses increasingly shift towards agile, high-quality managed office spaces, developers like Sumadhura are adapting their portfolios to capture new growth segments. The initiative leverages their established presence in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, positioning them well to meet the spatial and service requirements of India's dynamic corporate sectors. With further centres in the pipeline, Workship may well emerge as a notable player in the managed workspace landscape.
