YEIDA has initiated plans to develop a INR 450 crore tech-hub across 206 acres in Sector-10, near Noida International Airport. Backed by INR 144 crore from the Centre under the EMC 2.0 scheme and INR 340 crore from YEIDA, the hub is set to be completed by January 31, 2028. Havells, the anchor-unit, will invest INR 800 crore on a 50-acre plot to manufacture electrical-goods, creating 1,000 jobs in its first-phase. The project is expected to generate 31,000 jobs in total. The remaining land will host 66 industrial-plots, with 39 acres reserved for roads, green-belts, and infrastructure.
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has embarked on an ambitious project to establish a state-of-the-art technology hub in Sector 10, near the upcoming Noida International Airport. The proposed hub, which spans 206 acres, is expected to cost over INR 450 crore and is being developed as part of a larger vision to transform the region into a thriving electronics manufacturing ecosystem.
YEIDA has initiated the process of hiring a consultant responsible for the design and infrastructure management of the cluster. This hub's strategic location offers immense potential, situated close to major infrastructure corridors such as the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor and dedicated freight corridors, as well as the upcoming airport. These logistical advantages make the site attractive to both domestic and international firms looking to set up manufacturing and support operations.
A senior official from YEIDA emphasized the project's potential to create large-scale employment. Once operational, it is projected to generate over 11,000 direct jobs and an estimated 20,000 indirect employment opportunities, bringing the total to approximately 31,000 jobs. The entire development is targeted for completion by January 31, 2028.
A significant component of this initiative is the allocation of a 50-acre plot to Havells, designated as the anchor unit of the cluster. Havells plans to invest INR 800 crore to establish a manufacturing facility that will produce a range of electronic products, including fans, air conditioners, switchgear, cables, and lighting equipment. The plant, expected to be operational by 2026, will create over 1,000 jobs in its initial phase.
The Central Government has sanctioned INR 144 crore for the project under the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC 2.0) scheme, while YEIDA will contribute more than INR 340 crore. This funding approval, received last month, is seen as a significant endorsement of the state's ambition to become a major electronics production hub.
YEIDA's Chief Executive Officer, Arun Vir Singh, remarked that the Centre's support has energized the project, paving the way for swift land allotment to Havells and the commencement of broader development work across the cluster. He expressed optimism that the presence of an anchor brand like Havells would attract a host of component manufacturers and ancillary units to the area.
In addition to Havells' plot, the cluster includes 66 industrial plots covering 106 acres. These plots vary in size, from 1,000 square metres to over 32,000 square metres. The layout also reserves 39 acres for essential infrastructure, including roads, green zones, and utilities, with the remainder earmarked for industrial expansion.
