Synopsis

The Lucknow Development Authority has rolled out a digital databank designed to centralise land records and ease the process of map approvals. The system integrates ownership details from bodies such as the district panchayat, Nazul, trusts, and the municipal corporation, enabling applicants to approach the correct department for no objection certificates. With a fixed two-week window for external approvals, the process is set to become quicker and more transparent.

The Lucknow Development Authority has unveiled a digital databank aimed at bringing greater efficiency to the city's map approval process. By consolidating ownership data from the district panchayat, trusts, Nazul and the municipal corporation, the new system enables officials to confirm land ownership more effectively. Applicants will now be directed to the appropriate department for no objection certificates, avoiding the delays that arose when multiple agencies were approached unnecessarily.

In cases requiring external clearance such as those involving the Metro, fire department, airport authority or the archaeological survey agencies will have a two-week timeframe to provide their response. If no reply is received within this period, the LDA will proceed with approvals independently.

A senior official explained that frequent delays were identified in review meetings, largely due to applicants being unclear about which department's NOC was mandatory. By compiling all village land records of Lucknow into a single accessible databank, the authority expects to reduce uncertainty and accelerate the pace of approvals.

With ownership records centralised and agency response times clearly defined, the process will now reduce unnecessary bottlenecks. This initiative is expected to improve efficiency within the Lucknow Development Authority and deliver faster outcomes for applicants seeking development clearances.
