The Eknath Shinde government has shelved plans to acquire Mumbai Metro Line 1, opting instead for a one-time debt settlement. The Bombay High Court has urged the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to address the shortage of burial grounds for Sunni Muslims in Govandi-Deonar.
