Unitech has resumed work on six long-pending residential and commercial projects in Nirvana Country 2, after a decade of uncertainty. Under government-appointed management, construction began on April 5, with a 78-month deadline for completion. The projects, initially launched in 2009 and halted in 2014 due to financial issues and regulatory hurdles, cover 1,073 units, including 740 sold plots. The Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) has escalated its action against unauthorised constructions in Gurugram's DLF phases 1-5, recommending the revocation of occupation certificates (OCs) for 843 additional properties. This includes 583 EWS category houses and 169 general category units. The move follows an earlier order targeting 1,588 properties, bringing the total number of affected homes to 2,431. The action aligns with a Punjab and Haryana High Court directive to curb violations in planned residential areas. DTCP officials stated that once OCs are revoked, water, sewer, and electricity connections would be severed. The decision has sparked concerns among homeowners, many of whom claim they were issued valid OCs at the time of purchase. While some residents criticise the move as unfair, others welcome it as a necessary step to address urban planning issues. Authorities plan to commence sealing and demolition drives in April, while affected residents explore legal options.
Residents of Parsvnath Exotica, a gated community in Gurugram's Sector 53, are voicing concerns about unlawful multi-storey buildings and commercial establishments springing up in adjacent Saraswati Kunj. The 28-acre gated society with 18 towers and approximately 900 flats is divided into two phases. Phase-2, which consists of towers D4, D5, and D6, directly faces Saraswati Kunj. Despite a 2016 court order halting construction, illegal activity continues, with slums sprawling, and buildings being converted into unauthorised PGs and warehouses. Local authorities have yet to take action, prompting Exotica residents to urge the Chief Minister for immediate intervention to protect the safety and wellbeing of over 3,000 residents in their community.
The Enforcement Directorate has attached assets worth INR 94.82 crore in a money laundering investigation against Sidharth Chauhan, promoter of Sidhartha Buildhome Pvt. Ltd. (SBPL), following complaints from over 950 homebuyers. The allegations claim the company failed to deliver homes on time after collecting INR 520 crore. Chauhan allegedly diverted funds to other ventures, instead of completing the promised properties. The assets include land and buildings in Gurugram. The ED's action is part of a broader probe based on complaints filed by the Delhi Police's Economic Offences Wing.

The Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) has initiated strict action against illegal commercial operations in Gurugram's DLF phases 1-5, following a recent task force meeting led by the deputy commissioner. The district fire officer has been instructed to pursue legal action and submit a compliance report by April 19, 2025. The directive, aligned with a Punjab and Haryana High Court order, mandates the sealing of non-compliant properties and penalties for violators. A total of 614 residential plots, including 339 general and 275 EWS plots, have been unlawfully converted into commercial spaces, prompting concerns over fire safety, traffic congestion, and security risks.
The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) will now register FIRs against property owners who tamper with seals placed on unauthorized constructions and resume work. The move follows multiple complaints, including a recent incident in Zone 2 where an owner broke the seal and restarted construction. MCG officials have been directed to conduct inspections and file police complaints in such cases. Under the Haryana Municipal Corporation Act, of 1994, illegal constructions must be identified, sealed, and demolished if necessary. Notable cases include a seven-story illegal structure sealed in Sector 39 in February 2024 and another violation reported in Sector 52 in October 2024, where unauthorized floors were being added beyond approved limits.

The decision comes after the partial collapse of six floors of Tower D in February 2022, which had resulted in two fatalities. The Gurugram district administration has approved the demolition of Towers E, F, and G at NBCC Green View in Sector 37D due to severe structural deterioration. The decision follows NBCC (India) Ltd.'s request, citing safety risks, especially after multiple balcony collapses in 2024. These towers remain under NBCC's ownership, as they were never sold. The demolition, using high-reach machines, will follow safety and environmental protocols, with NBCC bearing full responsibility.
